2021 Panels and Talks:
September 2021: Invited panelist in "Consciousness and Capitalism" panel at FIYAH convention, where I discussed neuroscience, AI, and global societal systems.
September 2021: Invited panelist in "A World Made for Us: Disability and Neurodiverse-Friendly Architecture and Industrial Design" panel at FIYAH convention, where I used my background as a former architecture student to discuss reframing accessible design as a way to spark creativity, rather than as an impediment.
July 2021: Invited panelist in Penn State University's science conference on SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) to discuss influences neuroscience and sci-fi can have on SETI.
July 2021: Invited panelist in Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics Bookfest for Women in STEM to discuss "The Digital Age of Science Fiction Writing and Curation."
April 2021: Lectured on "Architecture, Neuroscience and Speculative Fiction: Relationships and Intersections" at the Flights of Foundry speculative fiction writing conference.
April 2021: Invited panelist in "The Unhelpful Legacy of Mad Scientists: Writing Scientists as Positive Role Models" at the Flights of Foundry speculative fiction writing conference.
March 2021: Invited panelist in "Building a Space Habitat" panel at the Canadian Speculative Fiction Conference (CanCon) where I used my biology and neuroscience background to discuss with other scientists and sci-fi authors how to keep a person physically and psychologically alive in outer space.
October 2020: Invited panelist in "Sci-Fi: Fix My World" panel at FIYAH convention, where I spoke about the neuroscience of implicit bias.
